CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Missouri Baptist University women's soccer was defeated 5-0 on the road against No. 14 Campbellsville University on Saturday afternoon. The Spartans drop to 0-2 to start the season after being outshot 11-10 by the Tigers.
Seniors Natalie Gum and Gabbie Wood evenly recorded two shots. Goalie Hannah Miller concluded the match with three saves.
Gum had an offensive opportunity at 11:58 in the first half but was denied by Milly Shakespeare, who produced eight saves. Wood took her second shot in the second half at 65:18, which was also stopped by Shakespeare.
The Spartans will be back at home for a non-conference matchup, Wednesday, August 27, to take on the Williams Baptist University Eagles at 2 p.m.
