ST LOUIS – The Missouri Baptist University women's soccer team broke through offensively on Wednesday afternoon, netting its first goal of the season in a 6-1 match against the Williams Baptist University Eagles. This loss snapped a 14-game win streak against the Eagles.
Kate Jose found the back of the net at 33:32 in the second half to give the Spartans their first goal of the year, a bright spot in an otherwise tough outing. The goal was assisted by Gracie Black. Despite the result, the Spartans showed persistence and continued to generate chances throughout the match, taking 22 shots and putting 10 on goal.
Missouri Baptist will look to build on the momentum of their first goal as they prepare for their next contest against Harris-Stowe State University on Sept. 2, at 7:30 p.m.
