MBU Women's Soccer Breaks Through with First Win Against Culver-Stockton College

ST. LOUIS - The Missouri Baptist University women's soccer team earned its first win of the season, defeating Culver-Stockton 2-0 in a conference matchup on Saturday evening. The victory marked a strong start in league play for the Spartans, who had been searching for a breakthrough performance.

Kyla Munoz had a quick start for the Spartans, scoring seven minutes into the first half with Kacie Watson on the assist from the corner kick. Gabbie Wood topped the game off with a solo goal at 73:31. Jordyn Maryas secured the shutout with seven saves. The Spartans demonstrated composure on both ends of the field, capitalizing on scoring chances and holding off late pressure from the Wildcats.

The win improves MBU's record to 1-5-1, while CSC drops to 4-2-1. The Spartans will continue conference play on Sept. 17, traveling to William Woods University.
