FAYETTE, MO. — Missouri Baptist University women's soccer saw their three-game winning streak come to an end with a 5-0 loss to Central Methodist University on Wednesday evening on the road.
The Eagles struck first at 24:21 with Lauren Burger's first goal of the season and never looked back. They added four more goals as the Spartans worked to contain a relentless attack. MBU managed three shots, but none found the back of the net. Goalkeeper Jordan Maryas finished with seven saves under heavy pressure.
The defeat drops the Spartans to 3-6-1, snapping a stretch that saw them collect three straight wins. They will look to regroup when they face Park University on Saturday at noon.
