ST. LOUIS – Missouri Baptist University defeated Park 74–66 on Friday afternoon at the Carl and Deloris Petty Sports and Recreation Center in a close matchup.
Eva Parks was efficient and timely for the Spartans, finishing 6-of-10 from the field while adding five rebounds and 12 points. She scored eight of her points in the fourth quarter as Missouri Baptist pulled away late.
Park led by as many as nine points in the first quarter, but Missouri Baptist answered with a 23-point second period to take a 40–31 lead into halftime. The Spartans maintained control through the third quarter before Park made one final push, tying the game at 61 midway through the fourth.
Missouri Baptist responded with an 11–2 run over the next four minutes, sparked by baskets from Parks and a 3-pointer by Madisyn Doran. The Spartans shot 53.8 percent in the fourth quarter and outrebounded Park 45–33 for the game. Doran added 12 points, while Mariana Cubero chipped in 11 off the bench.
