ST. LOUIS – Missouri Baptist University men's volleyball turned in one of its most complete performances of the season Saturday afternoon, powering past Morningside University in a 3-1 victory (25-23, 15-25, 25-21, 25-21).
The Spartans (8-7, 2-4) delivered a statement win over the Mustangs, who entered at 15-3 overall. After edging out a tight opening set, MBU responded to a second-set setback with authority. The Spartans hit .306 in the third and an even stronger .351 in the fourth, overwhelming Morningside with efficient swings and timely blocks to seal the match.
Isaac Allgeyer led the way with 13 kills, adding three assists and a pair of blocks.
AJ Tufuga followed with 10 kills and a match-high five block assists, consistently disrupting the Mustangs' rhythm at the net.
Justin McGary added nine kills on a blistering .438 hitting percentage, while
Luka Stepanovic chipped in nine kills, two service aces, and eight digs in a well-rounded effort.
Johnathan Kreke provided a steady presence in the middle, finishing with eight kills on .375 hitting while contributing to three total blocks as the Spartans controlled key stretches late.

Josh Kaemmerer directing the offense with 44 assists. The Spartans' defensive effort held the Mustangs to a .229 team hitting percentage and limited their efficiency in crucial late-set situations.
After splitting the first two frames, Missouri Baptist seized momentum midway through the third set and never relinquished control, closing each of the final two sets with poise to secure the dominant conference win.
The Spartans will return to action next week, taking on Culver-Stockton College at home.
