MISSOURI BAPTIST WOMEN'S TENNIS DROPS MATCH AT WEBSTER

WEBSTER GROVES, Mo. - The Missouri Baptist women's tennis team lost its first match since Feb. 27 on Thursday evening to the Webster University Gorlocks 9-0. Though the final score suggests a blowout, the contest was quite the opposite.

Webster University (12-1) showed talent and toughness throughout each set, but the Spartans made the Gorlock's work for every point.

MBU's Nicole Zevlever came close in both singles and doubles to victory. Zevlever and Elise Beckemeier lost at close match at the number three position, 8-6.

Zevlever, the freshman from St. Louis played number six doubles just as well. She took Hillary Fitz to the brink in both sets, losing 7-6 and 7-5.

Missouri Baptist plays Concordia on Friday and Quincy University on Saturday at the Dwight Davis Tennis Center in Forest Park.
