ST. LOUIS, Mo.- After suffering a tough loss to Union University over the weekend, the Missouri Baptist women's soccer team lost their second game in a row falling to McKendree University, 2-0.
In the first half, the Bearcats put shock into the Spartans system with a goal at the four minute mark, off the foot of Amy Cassiday to make it 1-0. Less than two minutes later, Cassi Kaiping put McKendree up 2-0, scoring past Missouri Baptist goalie Sam Schulze on an unassisted goal.
That score stayed the same until the end of the half, and it was a tough one for Missouri Baptist. The Spartans were unable to put a shot on goal, with McKendree putting seven shots on net.
The second half didn't fare much better for Missouri Baptist, as even though the team held McKendree scoreless, the Spartans couldn't put a comeback together. MBU was outshot 10-3 in the half and 17-3 for the game. Forward Kristen Neal had two shots, and Lauren Clinton added the other shot for the Spartans.
The teams' record falls to 1-4, but will look for a victory at Dordt College on September 8th. Game time is set to start at 1:00 p.m.
