ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Missouri Baptist had a big performance from Ashleigh Nalty in the high jump on Saturday at Illinois College, leading her team to a fifth-place finish.
Nalty, a freshman high jumper, provided the Spartans their a big victory on the day. Nalty's jump of 5-feet, 5.75 inches not only secured first place, but tied her for fourth-place in the 2013 NAIA performance rankings.
MBU also had success in the 4x200 relay. The team also finished first on the day besting Westminster College by over a second to grab the win. The women's 4x400 relay also finished strong for the Spartans. The team took home second place and eight points on the day.
Missouri Baptist had several outstanding performances throughout the competition. Shayla Arnold finished fourth in the 200m dash while Sophomore Taylor Hosna ended her day in fifth in the long jump.Porsha Grady also came away with four points for MBU with a fifth place finish in the 800 meter run.
The Spartans are planning on adding a competition for next weekend before heading to the AMC Championships at University of Missouri.
