FULLERTON, Calif. – The Missouri Baptist men's volleyball win streak was snapped at nine games Friday morning as the Hope International Royals defeated the Spartans 3-0. MBU is out in California for a three game road trip.
The Spartans did not start the trip off the way they would have liked. The first set was the best for MBU, but still not enough to get the win. The Royals took the set 26-24 despite MBU having a .310 attack percentage.
The second set was the worst hitting set for MBU. The Spartans only had a .129 attack percentage which allowed Hope to get the win 25-20. The third and final set again went in the favor of the Royals. MBU had a .281 attack percentage in the set, but Hope took the set 25-23 and the match 3-0.
Senior Gustavo Cintron had 15 kills in the match and Danny Traylor added 12 kills. Robert Esser had 40 assists in the match.
Missouri Baptist hopes to turn things around tomorrow as they play two more games in California. First game will be against Johnson and Wales University and the second game for MBU will be against Concordia University. The first match is set for 10 a.m. and the second match is set for 1 p.m.
