GENEVA, Ohio – The Missouri Baptist men's and women's indoor track and field teams competed in the NAIA Indoor National Championships on Friday and left their mark high. The men and women's teams dominated the race walk and set two National records.
The men from Missouri Baptist dominated the 3000 Meter race walk by setting two national records. Nick Christie became the National Champion and set a new national record with a time of 11:59.73. Not to be out done by too much, Alejandro Chavez finished in second with a time of 12:00.57 and also set a national record. Chavez was the National Champion in 2012.
On the women's side, Nirvana Zalba finished second in the 3000 Meter race walk with a time of 14:15.18. Freshman Molly Josephs finished in sixth place overall with a time of 15:47.84 and was named an All-American.
Saturday action included Ashleigh Nalty in the high jump. Nalty finished tied for second place after jumping 1.70 Meters. The second place finish was good enough to be named an All-American.
