LONDON'S EARLY GOAL HOLDS UP AS WOMEN'S SOCCER WINS 1-0

ST. LOUIS, MO. - Aregll London's net finder from Megan Huffman just 2:51 into the match proved to be enough as the Missouri Baptist women's soccer team posted a 1-0 victory over Central Methodist. Sam Schulze earned her first shutout of the season and made four saves on the night.

The Spartans earned their second win of the season and improved to 2-1-1.

Missouri Baptist had the early goal, but the Eagles turned up the pressure with seven shots in the first half, two more than the Spartans' five shots. Central Methodist also outshot MBU in the second half, 10-7, but solid defense and stellar goalkeeping kept the Eagles off the scoreboard.

London led the Spartans with three shots on goal, while Huffman and Anna Recer posted two shots on goal.

The goal for London was her first of the season and Huffman's assist was her first of the year.

Missouri Baptist hosts Benedictine College in Kansas on Saturday at 3:00 pm.
