ST. LOUIS- The Missouri Baptist women's soccer team fell to 19th ranked Benedictine College today, 4-0. The Spartans were limited to just four shots on the day, while the Ravens took 27 shots. MBU falls to 2-2-1 on the year and Benedictine improves to 5-1.
Ashley Washburn put the Ravens on top at the 21:36 mark after an assist by Liz Enna and Bethany Smith. Benedictine College added another goal and led 2-0 at the half after Jordan Francescon dropped a header past goalkeeper Sam Schulze with less than two minutes remaining.
The ball stayed in the Spartans half of the field for the majority of the first half, resulting in Schulze making eight saves. The Spartans had zero shots in the first half.
The second half evened out a bit, as the Spartans had two shots on goal, one from Ashly Wiedenhoffer and one from Lauren Clinton. Schulze made three saves in the half.
Benedictine added its third goal of the game at the 58:40 mark and scored the final goal with less than six minutes remaining in the game.
Missouri Baptist hosts McKendree on Tuesday at 11:00 am.
