SPARTANS TAKE DOWN EAGLES

ST. LOUIS – [BOX SCORE] Missouri Baptist women's soccer notched another American Midwest Conference win on Saturday afternoon with a win over the Williams Baptist Eagles, 5-0.  

Taylor Geise started of the scoring run for Missouri Baptist (7-4-3, 7-1-1) just eleven minutes into the game.  The Spartans were unable to find the net again in the first half after having posted 13 shots.

Kathryn Kessler saw little action in the first half as MBU kept the Eagles on their side of the field, which held WBC to no shots.

13 minutes into the second half, Chanel Thorpe found the back of the net notching the second goal for MBU.  Donna Jolliff made the next strike as Taylor Geise followed right behind with her second goal of the game. Jamie Morales sealed the 5-0 win with her first tally of the contest late in the half.

Kayla Benoit held the Eagles to no goals in the second half with only one shot on goal.

The Spartans continue their stand at home on Wednesday, October 22, 2014, as the team will welcome Benedictine University - Springfield to St. Louis. Game time is set for 12:00 p.m.
