BULLDOGS NO MATCH FOR SPARTANS

ST. LOUIS – [BOX SCORE] Missouri Baptist women's soccer team controlled Wednesday's match against Benedictine University-Springfield throughoutthe entirety if the match and came up with the 6-0 shutout. With the win, the Spartans improved to 8-1-1 in conference play.

Missouri Baptist (8-3-3, 8-1-1) outshot Benedictine 21-1 in the first half. Jamie Morales was the first to find net in the 33rd minute. As the first half came to a close Taylor Geise notched the second score for the Spartans.

After the half, the Spartans went back to work. Only one minute into the final period of play, Heather Schneider extended the lead to 3-0. The Bulldogs slowed the bleeding for about 14 minutes until Kathryn Foytlin found the back of the net in the 61st minute. Just under seven minutes later, Donna Jolliff found her way through the defense as Megan Allen lead her with a pass to the goal to make it 5-0 MBU.

Kathryn Kessler and Kayla Benoit combined on the shutout as Kessler picked-up the lone save in the victory.

The Spartans outshot the Bulldogs 36-2 en-route to the 6-0 victory. With the win, MBU remains third in the AMC, but will have a chance to jump, as second-place team Park University comes to town on Saturday. Game time is scheduled for 2:00 p.m., but fans are asked to arrive early as senior day festivities will be held prior to the match.
