ST. LOUIS – The No. 5 team in the country was too much for the Missouri Baptist men's lacrosse team, as the Spartans fell 14-5.
Aaron McClintock led Missouri Baptist (3-4) with three goals, while Dan Mollett and Griffin Trotter each netted goals. Alex Short dished out two assists.
Ben Bowler made 16 saves for the Spartans, but the story of the game was the goaltending for the Lakers. The Grand Valley State goalie stopped numerous scoring opportunities for the Spartans, which caused havoc on the MBU attack.
PJ Brueggemann won 14 faceoffs for Missouri Baptist, which equated to a 73% win percentage.
The Spartans will take on Judson University tomorrow in Chicago, Ill.
