ST. LOUIS - Missouri Baptist University men's lacrosse is set to begin its postseason run on Saturday as the No. 3 seed in the Heart of America Athletic Conference Tournament. The Spartans will host No. 6 seed William Woods University at Spartan Field. Opening face-off is scheduled for 5 p.m.

The winner of Saturday's game will advance to the semifinals to face No. 2 seed Saint Ambrose University on the road Wednesday.
SPARTANS (6–7, 6–3 Heart)
Missouri Baptist finished the regular season 6–7 overall, including a 6–3 record in conference play and a 3–4 mark at home.
The Spartans enter the tournament riding a two-game winning streak. Most recently, they defeated Clarke University, 14–5, on the road April 16 to end the regular season.
Senior Matthew Lash leads MBU with 54 goals and 24 assists this season. Caleb Tant is the team leader in assists with 30 and has added 31 goals of his own.
The Spartans have had success at face-offs, winning 72.1 percent of their draws as a team. MBU is also converting on 36.1 percent of its power-play opportunities this season.
Raymond Lingard has led MBU in its face-off success, winning 251 of 329 attempts for a 76.3 win percentage.
MBU defeated William Woods, 13–9, in the first meeting between the programs on March 22 in Fulton, Mo.
OWLS (5–7, 5–4 Heart)
William Woods finished the regular season with a 5–7 overall record, including a 5–4 conference mark and a 2–4 record on the road.
The Owls are on a roll heading into the tournament, having won four straight, including a 16–10 road win over Columbia College on April 15.
Vinny DeMarco leads the team with 56 goals and is tied for the team lead with 24 assists.
Ethan NewMyer has also been a high contributor with 30 goals and 10 assists on the year.
WWU has won 43.5 percent of face-offs this season and is converting on 30.2 percent of its power-play opportunities.
