KANSAS CITY, Mo. –
Raymond Lingard was selected as an NAIA Second Team All-American Face-Off Specialist after an impressive first year at Missouri Baptist University on Thursday.
Lingard was an instrumental part of the MBU lacrosse program, which improved its win total by six from the previous season and advanced to the Heart of America Athletic Conference Semifinals.
The Quincy University transfer and senior from St. Louis was named the Heart's Newcomer of the Year and earned First Team All-Conference honors as a draw specialist. He made a major impact in his debut season, tallying 18 goals, four assists, and going 283-of-375 (75.4 percent) on his faceoffs, which ranked first in the NAIA. He also led the nation with 215 ground balls.
The All-America Committee, comprised of men's lacrosse coaches from across the country, makes the All-America selections. The list comprises 13 members for the first, second, and third teams.
