ST. LOUIS – Missouri Baptist women's soccer team began conference play with a 3-0 win against the Hannibal LaGrange Trojans on Wednesday to start conference play in 2014.
Kathryn Kessler started in net for the Spartans and recorded her first shutout while she stopped four Trojan shots.
Making the first mark for the Spartans was Donna Joliff on an assist from Mary Lee. As the buzzer sounded, MBU went into the half up by one.
Hungry for more in the second half, Lauren Guerrero and Argell London found net to make it a 3-0 Spartan advantage.
"Overall our game is coming along" said Coach Deno Merrick. "The more time we spend together the more connected we get as a team and today it showed. So overall our game is progressing the way we want it too."
On the stat line the team had three goals, three assists, and twenty two shots with eight on goal.
The Spartans will travel to Stephens College for their next competition on Saturday, September 20, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. In Columbia, Mo.
