Box Score ST. LOUIS – [BOX SCORE] Danielle Wilde scored twice and added two assists to help lead the Spartans past St. Louis College of Pharmacy 4-0 Saturday night at CBC Field.
The Spartans (5-8-1) extended their win streak to three with the victory. They dominated throughout the match, outshooting the Eutectics 22-4 overall.
However, Missouri Baptist had trouble finding its scoring touch early on. The game remained scoreless until Wilde knocked the ball into the net in the 42nd minute to put the Spartans ahead 1-0.
Wilde then helped extend the lead two minutes later. The freshmen sent the ball ahead to Taylor Giese in the 44th minute right toward the box. Giese chased it down and tapped it past the keeper for the goal to put the Spartans up 2-0 right before halftime.
Missouri Baptist picked up right where it left off to begin the second half. Wilde scored her second goal of the match less than five minutes after the break off a pass from Donna Jolliff.
Wilde's goal marked the Spartans first shot in the final frame. The team's second shot of the half also found the back of the net. Morgan Mell drilled the ball into the net from right outside the box off a pass from Wilde for the Spartans fourth and final goal.
The Missouri Baptist defense and goalkeeper Alex Lair limited the Eutectics to four shots. Lair made one save and has now only allowed 12 goals in her last 10 games in net.
After a perfect 3-0 week, the Spartans return to action Wednesday afternoon at home against Columbia College. The match is set to begin at 2:00 p.m.
