ST. LOUIS - [Box Score] - Missouri Baptist (6-0) stranded six runners on base throughout the first five innings, but their mentality never wavered as they plated eight runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to push them towards a final score of 10-5 against Culver-Stockton.

The sixth inning all began with a walk by the leadoff batter, Eli Roundtree. One hit batter, a single, and two outs later, the Spartan offense hit it's stride.

A two-run home run by Roundtree and a two RBI triple by Orlando Olivera highlighted what ended up being an eight run inning that consisted of four hits with one error by Culver-Stockton.

With the offense combining for eight hits while earning seven walks, the job was made easy for Spartan starter Michael Yarborough. The senior out of Pensacola, Fla., threw seven innings while only allowing two runs, both earned, on six hits without surrendering a walk.

Yarborough, 10-1 in 2014, was looking to rebound from his first start against William Carey last weekend where he allowed three runs in only four innings of work. He certainly came out in the right state of mind, not allowing a hit until the third inning.

Yarborough finished with only three strikeouts when Carl Jameson and Joel Duggins relieved him from the bullpen. Jameson and Duggins hurled three outs each and combined for three strikeouts while Jameson allowed on unearned run Duggins allowed two runs on a home run by Wildcat second-baseman, Jake Pott before closing the door.

The Spartans will head home and rest a few days before heading to Lebanon, Tenn., to face reigning national champion Cumberland University, whom they beat 11-2 this past Thursday, Feb. 6. The three game series is set to start off with a double header on Friday, Feb. 13, with the first pitch of game one scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
