ST. LOUIS – [BOX SCORE] Missouri Baptist baseball began the day with a five-run second inning while Dave Mullins went the distance in a 22-0 win over Lindenwood University – Belleville.

Missouri Baptist (11-1, 1-0 AMC) won its first game in American Midwest Conference play in dominating fashion as the bats came alive in the second inning.

Perhaps the biggest factor of the game occurred in the second inning. Lindenwood – Belleville's Jordan Savage nearly got out of trouble as the Spartans had bases loaded with two outs. Aaron Collazo popped-up just off the first base line and the ball was caught in a snowy area in foul territory. The play, originally thought to be the third out ended as just a foul ball as the home plate umpire explained that any area that was covered in snow was not a playable area.

Moments after the foul ball, Collazo drilled a three-run triple into the gap in right-center which accounted for the games first three runs. Jeff Smith followed with a two-run shot to make it 5-0.

The Spartans didn't stop there. MBU scored six more in the third, six in the fifth, which was all capped-off with a grand slam by Eli Roundtree over the right-field fence to make it 18-0 through five.

Missouri Baptist put four more tallies on the board in the sixth as the Spartans cruised to a 22-0 victory on a blistery day in Central Illinois.

Dave Mullins was outstanding in this one as the senior picked-up his third win on the year. He tossed seven innings and surrendered two hits before the game was called by 10-run rule.

Missouri Baptist will head to Spartan Field for the first time this year on Monday as the two team will meet-up in a doubleheader to complete the season series. Randy Wynne and Michael Yarborough are both expected to get the start for MBU.
