Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

ST. LOUIS – [BOX SCORE G1] [BOX SCORE G2Missouri Baptist scored four runs on the day, but couldn't stop a hungry William Woods (Mo.) team as the Spartans fell 3-2 and 4-2 in Friday's doubleheader.

Missouri Baptist (34-11, 16-10 AMC) posted the first two runs in game one and the first run of game two, but were unable to hold the lead in both circumstances.

Jeff Smith and Tim Cusick led MBU in game one. The senior third baseman went 3-4 at the plate with a double and a run scored, while Cusick went 3-3 with a double and a run scored.

The Owls, down 2-0, came back in the fourth to score a run and posted two in the sixth to take the first game. John Caveness picked-up the win while James Ball got the save.

Game two was a similar story, though MBU struggled to put hits together. The first seven batters in order recorded a single base hit, but no one has a multi-hit game. The Spartans struck out 10 times on the day as Jacob Guilianelli grabbed the win. Ball picked-up his second save on the day as well.

The Spartans will now gear-up for the series finale on Saturday. First pitch is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. at Spartan Field.
