ST. LOUIS – [BOX SCORE] All Missouri Baptist needed was a win on Friday… What it got, however, was a dominant offensive effort and a masterful performance from Jared Crescentini, to lead the team to a 14-0 win over Harris-Stowe (Mo.)

Jared Crescentini was just shy of perfection on Friday as the junior hurler tossed his first no-hitter of his four-year college career. The Florida native struck-out eight and faced 22 batters as he led his team to a big win in game one of the final American Midwest Conference series of 2016. Just a throwing error in the top of the first inning separated him from perfection.

Crescentini kept the hitters guessing all day long as the Spartan bats jumped all-over the Hornets. 16 batters came to the plate in the bottom of the first and Missouri Baptist plated, what may be a record, 11 runs in the inning.

Perhaps the most interesting part of the first was the fact that none of the first eight batters recorded a hit. Josh Miguel recorded a two-RBI single and began a long string of hits for the Spartans.

Up 5-0 at that point, Tim Hergert belted a three-run home run over the left field wall, and extended the lead to 8-0. It was the Spartan shortstop's third home run of the year.

Missouri Baptist tacked-on three more runs in the inning and never felt a challenge as Crescentini rolled through the lineup.

It was a perfect storm for the Spartans on Friday as the win secured an AMC Regular Season Title. It is the 17's regular season title in team history for Missouri Baptist, as they will enter next week's Conference Tournament as the No. 1 overall seed.
