ST. LOUIS—Missouri Baptist Baseball standout Hayden Crowe has been named a Google Cloud Second Team Academic All-American®, the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced on Monday. The Jackson, Tenn. native is the fourth student-athlete in MBU history to be named an Academic All-American.

Crowe is one of 11 baseball student-athletes from across the NAIA to be named a Second Team Academic All-American. Acknowledged as one of the most selective and prestigious awards in college athletics, the Google Cloud Academic All-America® program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performance on the field and in the classroom.

The senior emerged as the Spartans' No. 1 pitcher out of the bullpen in 2019 and earned Second Team All-AMC honors. Crowe posted a team-best 1.78 ERA in 35.1 innings. He recorded 46 strikeouts and walked just three hitters all season, including an incredible stretch of 29 straight innings without allowing a free pass from February 9 through the end of the season on May 4 (16 appearances).

Academically, Crowe maintained a 3.60 GPA while majoring in Business Administration. He was a two-time Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athlete and Academic All-Conference selection. Crowe is currently playing summer ball in the Golden State Collegiate League but plans to begin training to become an airline pilot this fall.

Hayden will be recognized with a special plaque at the 2019 MBU Athletics Hall of Fame banquet on October 17.
