BATESVILLE, Ark. – At the conclusion of Friday's AMC Championship game, the AMC announced its All-Conference teams for men's soccer. Missouri Baptist received six selections on the Honorable Mention list. The Spartans were well-represented at each position with defenders Richie Taylor and Nicolo Tossici joining goalkeeper Wessel Berenschot on the defensive end. Reece Kral represented the midfield while forwards Louie Perez and Brandon Burton rightly earned recognition for the forward spots.
 
Five of the six had previously earned All-Conference honors in their career but for graduate senior goalkeeper Wessel Berenschot, this was a well-deserved first-time accolade. Berenschot started 16 of 18 games this season and recorded six shutouts. This past spring, the Dutchman became the first goalkeeper in MBU Men's Soccer history to be named an Academic All-American.
 
Senior center back Richie Taylor added to his impressive resume with his third All-Conference honor. Taylor was an honorable mention as a freshman in 2018 and a First Team selection a year later as a sophomore. The 6-5 former Francis Howell North standout played in all 17 games this season to bring his career total to 72 games. That number tied teammate Cullen Barr and former Spartan David Barnett (2001-04) for career games played.  
 
Nicolo Tossici made a position change this season but didn't miss a beat after garnering First Team honors last spring. Tossici made 14 starts at fullback after spending his first two seasons as a center back. He scored two goals including a game-winner on October 2 against UHSP.
 
In the midfield, senior Reece Kral had two goals and four assists in 15 games. Kral was also a First Team selection last spring.
 
Rounding out the list was the Spartans' two leading-scorers, Brandon Burton and Louie Perez. Burton finished with two goals and seven assists while Perez racked up five goals and two assists. Burton was a First Team inclusion in the spring in his first season as a Spartan. Perez earned Honorable Mention recognition for the third time in as many years.
