FULTON, Mo. – Sophomore
Maclovia Stubblefield led the Missouri Baptist women's golf team for the second time in three outings at this week's William Woods University Spring Invitational. Stubblefield was one of three Spartans to lower their score on Day Two at Tanglewood Golf Course. Improving by eight strokes on Tuesday, MBU finished sixth out of seven scoring teams in the final standings.
After shooting 97 in Round One,
Maclovia Stubblefield tied her season-best of 93 on Tuesday to snag the top finish for the Spartans (27
th). Freshman
Lauren Ice finished just one stroke behind Stubblefield in 28
th place with a 95-96–190.
Carlie Van Patten and
Taylor Stimpson both improved on their Day One scores as well. Van Patten shot a 100-99–199 to finish 31
st while Stimpson improved by four strokes recording a 109-105–214.
Up next for the Spartans is a trip to Cherokee, Ark. for the Williams Baptist University Spring Invitational on Monday, April 11.
