The Missouri Baptist University men's and women's golf teams competed in the Missouri Valley College Spring Invitational on Monday, April 20, and Tuesday, April 21, at Indian Foothills Golf Course in Marshall, Mo.
The men's team finished fifth of 16, shooting 879 (+15) over three rounds of play.
Luke Gardner led the Spartans with an even-par 216 to tie for 11th place. His best showing came in the opening 18 holes, where he shot a 5-under 67 with 10 birdies.
Will Dugal also delivered a strong performance, finishing 2-over 218 to tie for 14th. He stood at 4-under after the first two rounds but was unable to convert in the final 18.
The women's team landed in sixth after shooting 1123 (+259) on a 5,829-yard course.
Priscila Rodriguez led the Spartans at 264 (+48) to tie for 13
th place.
GG Rogers also placed in the top 20, shooting 271 (+55) to tie for 18th.
With regular-season play concluded, MBU golf enters the Heart of America Athletic Conference Tournament on Monday, April 27, and Tuesday, April 28, at Paradise Pointe Golf Complex in Smithville, Mo.
