COLUMBIA, Mo. – Missouri Baptist University Women's Cross Country traveled just up the road to Columbia, Mo., on Friday (Sept. 16) for the Larry Young Invitational (5K) hosted by Columbia College. The Spartans repeated their fifth-place finish from 2021, finishing behind Missouri S&T, William Woods, Benedictine (Kan.), and Truman State with 145 points.
The leader for the Spartans, Mia Reed, who had placed 15th last year, bumped up her spot by one, coming in 14th with a time of 19:42.91. Freshman Adrienne Rockette was close behind, finishing 20th overall at 19:52.48.
Rounding out those in the top 50 for the Spartans was sophomore Isabel Rinkenberger in 32nd, and junior Gracie Kopala in 45th, with times of 20:17.68 and 20:52.32, respectively.
Maddie Sargent was another notable performer beating her previous 5K PR of 23:07.40, clocking in at 22:49.23 on Friday at the Gans Creek Cross Country Course.
Next up for the Spartans is the McKendree University Bearcat Classic (5K) on Sept. 23.
