ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Missouri Baptist University freshman cross-country runner Isabella Aimonette and senior golfer Luke Gardner have been selected as Raising Cane's October Athletes of the Month.
Aimonette delivered a breakout performance in the women's 6K race at the Seminole Valley Stampede, capturing the individual title out of 170 runners. Despite slipping at the starting line, she set a course record with a time of 21 minutes, 34 seconds — the fastest of the day and one of only three sub-22-minute finishes in the event.
Gardner claimed two tournament titles in October, winning the CBC Fall Invitational at Maumelle Country Club and the William Woods Fall Invitational at Eagle Knoll Golf Club. He opened the month with a top-10 finish at the MBU Invitational, shooting 78–74. Gardner followed with rounds of 72 (even), 76 (+4) and 72 (even) in Arkansas for his second top-five finish of the fall, then closed the month at 2-under (70–72) to top a field of 78 competitors at William Woods.
The Raising Cane's Athlete of the Month award recognizes outstanding performances by Missouri Baptist University student-athletes throughout the academic year.
