HENDERSON, Tenn. – Missouri Baptist Spartans Women's Golf took part in the Freed-Hardeman Fall Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, finishing in eighth place.
Leading the way for the Spartans individually was junior
Lauren Ice. After carding an uncharacteristic 99 in her first round on Monday, the native of Salem, Ill. shook it off and hit 82 on the second day, which included 12 pars. Her two-day score of +37(181) was good enough for 32
nd place among 56 participants at the tournament played at Chickasaw Golf Club.

Chelsea Young and promising freshman
GG Rogers were next up for MBU, both finishing at +54(198). Both were fairly consistent with scores between 97 and 101 in each round for both of them. Rogers' 97 was the lowest Round One score among any of the Spartan contingent. Young and Rogers were included in a group of five that tied for 44
th place.
Rounding out the scores for MBU were junior transfer
Ella Dinsdale at +68(212) and senior
Maclovia Stubblefield at +70(214.)
The host, Freed-Hardeman University, nudged out Blue Mountain College and Point University by five strokes to claim the team title.
Next up for MBU is the Sand Creek Station Intercollegiate in Newton, Kan. next Monday and Tuesday.
