GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — At the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge (Oct. 21), the Missouri Baptist University men's cross country team fought to earn 16th place out of 23 competing teams.
Coming in 45th place out of 195 runners, freshman Grant Patten led his MBU teammates with a time of 28:01:80, beating his previous record of 28:02:00.
The next MBU finisher was Charlie McCallister with a time of 28:29:10, landing him in 67th place.
Ethan Bliss (29:19:10) and Josiah Heras (29:48:50) finished third and fourth among the Spartans, earning the 103rd and 121st spots in the race.
The fifth MBU competitor to finish the 8k was freshman Zach Klug (30:57:04), who took 159th place.
On Nov. 3, the Spartans will compete in the AMC Men's Cross Country Championships, where they will be ready to challenge the best teams in their conference.
