QUINCY, Ill. – The No. 8-ranked Missouri Baptist University women's wrestling team improved its dual record to 2-1 on Tuesday evening with a 30-14 road victory at NCAA D2 Quincy University. The Spartans won four contested matches to QU's three, while also collecting points at 109 and 170 by default.
Coming off a second-place performance at the Waldorf Open, sophomore
Alyssa Quezaire recorded a 10-0 tech fall win [2:07] over QU's Vianey Hernandez. With the win at 101, Quezaire moved to 6-1 on the year.
Also coming off a runner-up finish in Iowa, sophomore
Juliana Diaz represented MBU's next 'W' at 123. The Orlando, Fla. sophomore won by tech fall, 10-0, against Trinity Pendergrass and improved to 9-4 in matches this season.
Wrestling at 130, sophomore
Riley White got her second win of the year with a 7-0 decision over Autumn Van Bremen.
Anastasia Hardin moved to 8-4 on the young season defeating Quincy's Florida Nikokusenga via tech fall 10-0 [2:11]. Rounding out the Spartans' wins on the mat was
Faith Macharia at 191 pounds. The freshman grabbed her 10
th win of the season and eighth pin at the 2:02 mark.

Josette Partney earned the wins by forfeit at 109 and 170 pounds.
Next up, the Spartans will head in two different directions. Majority of the squad will head to Marshall, Mo. for the two-day Missouri Valley Open while a select group including
Juliana Diaz (53 kg),
Anastasia Hardin (68 kg), and
Josette Partney (68 kg), will head to New York City for the 2023 Bill Farrell Memorial International.
