SPARTANS FIND TWO IN THE TOP THREE AT MULE RELAYS

WARRENSBURG, Mo.- Missouri Baptist Track & Field took on the University of Central Missouri Mule Relays this weekend (April 14-15). They faced off against some tough opponents with only three of the Spartans making their way into the top ten.

Donovan Denslow has earned himself another first-place finish, this time in the 5000-meter run. Denslow clocked in a time of 14:37.00 to earn the gold. The junior was also able to earn an NAIA A Standard in his third event with his performance during the meet.

Wyatt Elliot earned the second-best finish for the Spartans during the Mule Relays. In the 10,000-meter run, Elliott took the bronze with a time of 32:47.30.

The last Spartan to find themselves in the top ten was Keon Graham. Graham participated in the triple jump, 100-meter dash, and 200-meter dash. The Sikeston, Mo. native was able to earn tenth in the triple jump with a distance of 12.28 meters. Graham set new personal records in both of his other events. In the 100m the junior set a new PR of 11.79 and in the 200m a time of 23.57.

The men's 4 x 400-meter relay team just missed out on making it into the top 10. The team, made up of Elias Neely, Tristan Lawson, Camden Woolbright and Josiah Heras, came in 11th with a time of 3:30.59. Jack Warmann found himself in a similar situation, earning 11th in the 10,000-meter run with a time of 34:57.07.

There was a hand full of Spartans that set new personal records this go around as well. Grant Shankle earned a new PR in the hammer throw with a distance of 37.92 meters. Warren Gann able to set a new PR, also in the hammer throw, with a distance of 35.33m. Jordan Notz was able to put up a new PR in the Discus, throwing it 31.9m. Jordan Walker-Wright earned two PRs at the meet, setting them in the hammer throw and discus. He threw 43.76m and 42.55m respectively. On top of his performance in the 4 x 400, Heras also earned a new PR in the 800-meter run. The freshman was able to just narrowly beat his previous time by less than a second, clocking in at 2:02.28

Next up for Track & Field is the Culver-Stockton Wildcat Open on April 22.
