Brett Drye Sets the Pace for Missouri Baptist at SIUE Cougar Classic

EDWARDSVILLE, ILL. — Missouri Baptist University men's and women's track and field competed at the SIUE Cougar Classic this weekend, posting a strong collection of performances across both track and field events against a competitive field.

On the men's side, the Spartans were led by standout efforts from Brett Drye, who posted 10.90 in the 100 meters and 22.65 in the 200 meters to pace Missouri Baptist in both events, while also contributing in the long jump.

Missouri Baptist saw a wide range of strong performances in the remainder of the men's events, highlighted by several top-10 finishes and nationally ranked marks. Brandon Dodd led the way in the 200 meters with a 14th-place finish in 22.22, while also placing sixth in the high jump at 1.83 meters. Bryson Logan turned in a 15.68 in the 110-meter hurdles to place ninth and move into the NAIA rankings at No. 88 for 2026, while also adding a 23.01 in the 200 meters for 21st place.

Sam Woodson added depth in the hurdles with an 18.32 finish in the 110-meter hurdles (14th), and William Manning posted a strong 50.68 in the 400 meters to place 10th overall. In the hurdles, Lucas Sa secured a sixth-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 56.47.

In middle-distance action, Grant Patten ran 1:57.98 in the 800 meters to place ninth. The distance group was led by Caedmon Cook, who finished 20th in the 3000 meters with a time of 9:17.03 to rank No. 29 in the NAIA for 2026, while Zachary Klung followed with a 10:50.25 (28th), ranking No. 97 nationally.

In the field events, Jordan Walker-Wright delivered a standout performance with a third-place finish in the shot put (14.36m) and a fifth-place finish in the discus (43.30m), earning an NAIA mark of No. 81. Richard Rowley added a ninth-place finish in the hammer throw at 45.06 meters, ranking No. 93 nationally, while Braden Kirn rounded out the top field performances with a fourth-place finish in the javelin at 50.03 meters, good for No. 58 in the NAIA.

On the women's side, Missouri Baptist delivered a series of strong, stat-heavy performances across both track and field events. TaMari Allen led the Spartans in the sprints with a 12.52 finish in the 100 meters (15th), while also placing seventh in the long jump with a mark of 5.45 meters to move into the NAIA rankings at No. 49 for 2026. Julianne Hansen added a 13.15 (21st) in the 100 meters, while Alley Busch followed with a 13.78 (23rd), rounding out Missouri Baptist's sprint group.

In the 400 meters, Allie England posted a time of 1:03.97 to place 14th overall. Adrienne Rockette turned in one of the top track performances for the Spartans, finishing seventh in the 800 meters with a time of 2:22.01, earning a 2026 NAIA ranking of No. 81. In distance events, Noelle Reed led the way in the 3000 meters with an 11:40.78 (13th), ranking No. 33 in the NAIA, while Lillian Harris followed with a 12:14.36 (16th), good for No. 44 nationally.

In the field events, Emma Lawson competed in both the discus and hammer throw, recording marks of 33.55 meters (12th) and 37.92 meters (10th), respectively. Marian Cubero contributed in multiple events, placing ninth in the high jump at 1.43 meters and ninth in the triple jump with a mark of 9.66 meters. Brooke Lunsford added a strong showing in the jumps as well, placing 15th in the long jump (5.00m) and eighth in the triple jump (9.97m), helping round out a well-balanced performance from the Spartans.

As a team, Missouri Baptist recorded an eighth-place finish on the men's side with 29 points, while the women placed tied for 11th with five points in a field of 13 teams.

The Spartans will look to continue building momentum as they head to Missouri S&T for the Dewey Allgood Invitational this week. They will compete on Friday, April 17.
