CANTON, Mo.- Missouri Baptist Men's Track & Field headed to Culver-Stockton College this weekend (April 22) to take on the Wildcat Open. The team fared well, coming away with a fifth place finish out of 11.
The men's 4x800-meter relay team was one of two top place finishers for the Spartans. The team was made up of
Donovan Denslow,
Josiah Heras,
David Fletcher, and
Ethan Bliss. With a time of 8:22.53, they were able to walk away with a gold medal.
Wyatt Elliott was the lone Spartan to earn an individual gold medal. The senior took on the 5000-meter run and secured first with a time of 15.25.82, a new personal record.
Keon Graham and
Grant Shankle were the two Spartans to earn themselves a silver medal. Shankle, put up a second-place finish in the javelin with a distance of 45.56m. In the 400-meter hurdles, Graham secured second place with a time of a minute flat.
The last of the Men's Track & Field to find their way into the top three was
Elias Neely,
Jack Warmann, and
Camden Woolbright. Neely put up his best time yet in the 400-meter dash where he took third place. He earned his place with a time of 51.87. Along with Elliot, Warmann competed in the 5000mm run. The senior secured bronze with a time of 16:45.71. Woolbright competed in the 110-meter hurdles, earning third with a time of 16.37.
Jordan Walker-Wright was another performance to note at the Wildcat Open. In the hammer throw, he was able to earn a new PR of 45.82m.
Next the team will be heading to Des Moines, Iowa to take on the Drake University Relays on April 26-29.
