MBU Cross Country Logs Two Top 10s at Seminole Valley Stampede

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The Missouri Baptist University women's cross country team placed fifth of 15 at the Seminole Valley Stampede on Saturday morning while the men's team took ninth of 19. The women had two finish in the top 10 as individuals, and four men set new personal records in the event.

On the women's side, the team placed fifth in the 6K race with a total time of 1:59:19. Mia Duncan emerged as the top performer for the Spartans, finishing in fifth of 139 individually at 22:37.8. She was closely followed by Adrienne Rockette who claimed 10th with a 22:56.4 and Julia Whorton who took 28th.

The men's team secured a ninth of 19 finish in the 8K race. David Fletcher led the charge, finishing in 30th overall with a time of 25:54.8. His teammates Caedmon Cook and Brandon Etheridge finished in 54th and 62nd, respectively, while Alvin Wible rounded out the top-four in 67th place. Four Spartans set new personal records in the meet, including Fletcher, Grant Patten (26:57.8), Nick Fehr (27:25.3), and Josiah Heras (28:17.7).

The Spartans will look to build on this momentum as they prepare for their next meet on Saturday, Oct. 26, at the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge in Grand Rapids, Mich., at Riverside Park.
