SAINT LOUIS – Missouri Baptist University first baseman
Cole Robinson is being recognized as the American Midwest Conference Player of the Week, the conference office announced today.
The junior from Saint Louis had a spectacular week, all packed into one day last Thursday. Robinson belted four home runs in two games against Baker University (Kan.) to help the Spartans sweep a doubleheader from the Wildcats, 12-9 and 16-6. He also accounted for eight RBIs with four coming in each game. Robinson is the team leader in average (.459), home runs (six), and RBIs (14) through the first 10 games of the season, aiding MBU to a 7-3 start.
This is the second time Robinson has won AMC Player of the Week honors. He was also recognized the final week of the regular season last year.
The Spartans will be back on the diamond this Friday when they travel to Fayette, Mo. for the Central Methodist University Invite. Their first game begins at 10:30 a.m.
