ST. LOUIS – Missouri Baptist University women's soccer fell 5-1 to (RV) Campbellsville University on Saturday night. The Spartans dropped to 1-2 to open the season despite a goal from
Emma Selsor at 1:45 in the first half.
Run of Play:
- Junior Emma Selsor batted in a goal out of the air in the second minute of the game off a feed from Kacey Watson to put the Spartans out in front 1-0 early.
- MBU goalkeeper Hannah Miller was tested early and made a pair of saves in the seventh minute, followed by another in the 12th minute.
- Campbellsville tied the game at 18:37 when Amelie Matheis scored her second of the season on an assist from Lina Berrah.
- The Tigers continued the offensive pressure and jumped ahead on Marta Prieto's goal in the 34th minute.
- Momo Chogyoji found the back of the net in the final minute of the first half on her second shot attempt to extend the lead to 3-1.
- Chogyoji scored two more times in the 47th minute and in the 74th minute to help finish off a 5-1 Campbellsville victory.
