ST. LOUIS — Missouri Baptist University men's soccer routed Mission University 7-0, opening conference play at Spartan Field on Saturday evening behind six different goal scorers.
In a game where MBU found the back of the net seven times, six different Spartans tallied goals, with Marko Dordevic leading the way with two. The junior now leads the team in goals this season with eight.
Ognjen Bozovic, Jovan Mihajlovic, Matthew O'Reilly, Edvin Mahmutovic, and Sam Jones also scored in the offensive explosion.
MBU outshot Mission 36-3 and had 22 shots on goal compared to the Patriots' lone attempt. In a game that was all Spartans, the victory brought MBU back to .500 on the season.
Six of the Spartans' goals came in the first half, beginning with Dordevic's two. In the 33rd minute, Bozovic extended the lead to 3-0 with his second goal of the season.
Mihajlovic, O'Reilly, and Mahmutovic followed quickly with tallies to close the half.
Jones scored his first of the season in the 86th minute to put the final stamp on the 7-0 victory.
The Spartans (5-5) return to action on Saturday, Oct. 5, at Williams Baptist University at 2 p.m.
