MoBap Looks for Major Upsets Against (#4) Central Methodist and (#9) Cumberland

ST. LOUIS – Missouri Baptist University Women's Soccer enters one of the most difficult weeks of their season with a match up against fourth-ranked Central Methodist University today (Sept. 4) at 7:00 p.m. on Spartan Field.

Undefeated on the season, Central Methodist Women's Soccer has totaled 12 goals, scoring an average of three goals a game. Their starting goalkeeper made 11 saves throughout four games, only allowing one goal against. 

Since 2006, MBU has defeated CMU five times, and lost seven. In their most recent match during the 2023 season, MoBap only lost by three goals.

Playing at Spartan Field, MoBap will use their home field advantage to create the energy they need to execute this upset.

LEBANON, Tenn. – MBU plays ninth-ranked Cumberland University on Saturday (Sept. 7) at 1:00 p.m. on Pheonix home turf.

Cumberland is currently undefeated. The team has scored 22 goals in four games, generating a .573 shot on goal percentage. Their starting goalkeeper also has an impressive save percentage of .800.

In the past three match ups, MBU lost to CU, but games were relatively close. The Spartans only lost by one in their most recent game in 2023. They look to redeem themselves in the 2024 match.

MoBap is hungry for a win, especially against one of the ranked teams they have played so well thus far.
