ST. LOUIS – Missouri Baptist University men's basketball fell to No. 22-ranked William Woods University, 82-60, Thursday evening in the second game of the Spartans' three-game home stand.

With the loss, MBU dropped to 8-10 overall, 3-3 at home, and 5-3 in American Midwest Conference (AMC) play. The Spartans had won four of their last five games prior to Thursday's defeat. They will conclude the home stand on Saturday against Columbia College.

Breven McMullen led the Spartans with 20 points on 7-of-13 shooting from the field, including 2-of-4 from beyond the arc. The senior also grabbed seven rebounds, recorded one steal, and added a block.

Courtland Soll was the only other Spartan to score in double figures, finishing with 17 points on 6-of-15 shooting. Soll also shot 5-of-8 from the free-throw line, collected three rebounds, and added two steals and a block.

MBU shot 36.8% from the field and 22.2% from beyond the arc in the game.

The Spartans' only lead of the night came early in the first half when McMullen's free throw gave MBU a 3-1 advantage just 90 seconds into the contest. The Owls quickly seized control and cruised to their 14th win of the season.

The Spartans will face the Cougars on Saturday to wrap up the home stand. Tipoff is scheduled for 3 p.m.
