ST. LOUIS — The Missouri Baptist University women's soccer team is set to open postseason play this week as the Spartans head into the conference tournament looking to make a deep run. After a challenging regular season that featured several close matches, Missouri Baptist aims to carry momentum and determination into the knockout stage.
The Spartans will face Missouri Valley College in the opening round on Wednesday, with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m. Led by Deno Merrick, Missouri Baptist has relied on a strong defensive unit anchored by goalkeeper Jordyn Maryas, who recorded 95 saves this season, and a balanced attack led by Natalie Gum with four goals.
With the conference title on the line, Missouri Baptist looks to build on the lessons of the regular season and make a statement when it matters most.
