At 110, Young started the day hot with a technical fall 10-0 over her opponent from Lincoln Memorial (Tenn.). Young fell to Ariana Martinez of Life late in the first period of the semifinal bout. Young battled back with two falls to aid her to her bronze finish in her first tournament of her collegiate career.
Fish started her day with an opening round loss but ran the gauntlet to finish her Ironman tournament. Fresh off her loss, Fish captured two first-period falls to elevate her to the consolation semifinal.
Fish received a forfeit and found herself pitted against the foe she fell against in the opening round, Eryn Hubble of Emory & Henry (Va.). Fish took the first points early in the match. Hubble scored 12 unanswered points, which included two four-point moves. Fish was able to find two more points to go to the break down 12-6. After a back-and-forth that 14-12 in favor of Hubble, Fish found the fall to win the rematch and claim 3rd at 180. Fish also outplaced the No. 16 wrestler at her weight from Montreat (N.C.).
