Cole Robinson's six home runs last week earned him American Midwest Conference Player of the Week on Monday. The senior first baseman from St. Louis propelled the Spartans to a doubleheader sweep against Crowley's Ridge College and a series split with (RV) Columbia College.
Robinson tallied six home runs, 10 runs scored, and 17 RBI over six games played in conference play last week.
In a doubleheader against Crowley's Ridge on March 11, he slugged five home runs and drove in 11 batters to help MBU to a pair of wins. In game one he was 6-for-6 with four home runs, eight RBI, and five runs scored. He followed up in game two with a 2-for-4 performance, including a home run, a double, three RBI, and two walks.
In the series against Columbia, he tallied a home run, five RBI, and a trio of runs scored.
After a slow start to the season, the NAIA Preseason All-American is now hitting .342 with seven home runs, 30 RBI, and a 1.171 OPS.
Robinson and the Spartans continue conference play in Springfield, Mo., against Mission University on Friday, March 21. The first pitch of game one is set for noon.
