The Spartans Continue AMC Dominance With Two Wins Over Stephens

ST. LOUIS - Missouri Baptist picked up a pair of wins over the Stephens Stars at home led by stellar plate appearances and commanding pitching on the defensive end.

Game One Recap

Brooklynn Fischer, the game one starter, came out firing for the Spartans as she struck out a pair of Stars in the top of the first inning. Missouri Baptist's offense responded to the shutout top of the first with a trio of runs as Makayla Johnson and Jacie Dees came around to score on a three-run homer off the bat of Alexi Sanchez.

The Spartans tacked on three more runs in the bottom of the second inning as Miranda Ladson, Emily Wright, and Grace McGinnis, pinch running for Jacie Dees, all came around to score.

Fischer and the Spartan defense continued to keep the Stephens offense at bay before Camryn Kessler blasted a homerun over the left field fence with Jenna Achs on base, making the score 8-0. Ladson followed up the homerun with a double and came around to score before the inning concluded.
