KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The NAIA announced
Brooklynn Fischer and
Allison Leigraf to the softball All-America teams on Wednesday, June 3. Fischer becomes a three-time All-American while Leigraf earns the award for the first time in her career.
The duo powered Missouri Baptist University softball to its third consecutive NAIA Opening Round appearance and a Heart of America Athletic Conference regular-season championship in the program's first year in the league.
Fischer, a senior from New Florence, Mo., was selected to the NAIA All-America First Team as the designated player after batting .409 with 70 hits, 19 doubles, seven home runs and 43 RBI in 54 games. She also went 14-5 in the circle with a 3.08 ERA and 111 strikeouts across 118.1 innings.
Leigraf was selected to the NAIA All-America Third Team at-large after hitting .340 with 16 home runs, 61 RBI and 50 runs scored in 54 games, setting the program's single-season home run record.
