ST. LOUIS – Missouri Baptist University men's lacrosse fell to Benedictine College, 15-9, on Saturday evening at Spartan Field.
With the loss, the Spartans dropped to 2-6 overall, 2-2 in conference play, and 0-3 at home.
Four different Spartans found the back of the net, led by Joe Busselman, who recorded four goals, one assist, and two ground balls. Matthew Lash and Raymond Lingard each tallied two goals, while Caleb Tant added one.
Benedictine outshot Missouri Baptist 51-42, including a 37-23 advantage in shots on goal. The Spartans struggled with turnovers, committing 28 compared to the Ravens' 16.
The Ravens took an early 2-0 lead before Lash netted back-to-back goals to tie the game at 2-2. MBU briefly took control late in the first half, heading into halftime with a 7-6 advantage after a goal from Busselman.
However, Benedictine seized momentum in the second half, scoring six unanswered goals to pull away for the victory.
