ST. LOUIS - The Missouri Baptist University men's and women's tennis teams both secured dominant 6-1 victories over Ottawa University on Thursday afternoon at the Dwight Davis Tennis Center.
Women's Tennis
The Spartans improved to 6-2 on the season, snapping a two-match losing streak with their win over the Braves.
MBU secured the doubles point after Polina Agapitova and Mariana Azevedo earned a victory, while a forfeit at No. 3 doubles gave the Spartans an early 1-0 lead.
In singles play, Yvonne Shannon and Jocelynn Carmody each won their matches to push MBU ahead 3-0. Three forfeits from Ottawa then sealed the 6-1 victory for the Spartans.
Men's Tennis
MBU men's tennis improved to 6-3 on the season, winning four of its last five matches.
Ottawa took an early 1-0 lead after securing two doubles victories.
However, the Spartans responded with a dominant singles performance. Luca da Silva Ebenriter, Strahinja Radanovic, Sebastian Junghanns, Arkhip Tokmakov, Lucas Kzam, and Nicolas Sanchez all secured wins, sweeping singles play and lifting MBU to the 6-1 victory.
