MELBOURNE, Ark. – Missouri Baptist University men's golf finished fifth at the American Midwest Conference Championship at Cooper's Hawk Golf Club in Melbourne, Arkansas, on Tuesday. The Spartans shot +70 in the three-round tournament, posting 934 total strokes, 75 strokes off William Woods University, which claimed the title.
After the tournament, the conference announced
Luke Gardner to the All-AMC Second Team, his first career selection.
Logan Malott was chosen as an all-conference honorable mention, and
Sam Beggs was the representative on the AMC Champions of Character Team.
Malott paced the Spartans, finishing in 10
th at 11 over par. He opened the tournament with a 75 in round one, struggled in the second round with a 79, and wrapped up the championship in round three with a trio of birdies for a 73.
Beggs finished 15
th at 15 over par, carding a 78, 75, and 78. Gardner rounded out the Spartans inside the top 25, going 80, 79, and 77.
